Sewing Club Week 2

This week the children worked on stitching bear puppets. They were very excited to try a new project!
Most of the children used the overcast stitch technique and one child used the running stitch technique. I observed a lot of progress in their sewing skills and confidence since last week.
The children were given a variety of sewing notions (such as buttons, bells, beads) to take home along with a needle and thread so that they could continue decorating their creations on their own time.

Tuesday's group:

Thursday's group:

We have to sew the two pieces together inside out,
   with pins holding them together.
Then when we were done, we turn them inside out!
The stitches disappear because they're inside the bear!
                                           So proud!
