Group 2 Summer Trash Challenge Conclusion

I would like to start off this post with a big thank you to all of the children in group two who worked so diligently this summer on this challenge! At the beginning of the summer it was my goal to bring a little bit of an awareness to all of the litter that we so commonly see on our sidewalks and boulevards, and relocate it to its proper place. Some children made it their personal goal to make sure they picked up every piece of trash in their path, others picked up on the evenings and weekends, and one child even made her own chart, so she was able to keep an accurate account throughout the whole summer! Well, the totals have come in!! Drumroll Please......... we collected 5,757 pieces of trash!!!! To give you all an idea of this amount in weight; if every piece that we collected was a disposable coffee cup with a lid, we would have collected 203 pounds of garbage. Those are some pretty impressive totals! Way to go group two!!
Mr. Bordush- Thanks for a great summer everyone!
See you soon!

Group 4

We had an amazing summer and we're sad to see it coming to an end! Here are a few pictures from our gardening, second bike trip, Fort Whyte Alive, smoothies and our trip to the Forks. Friday Mr. Buckley did some 'Mad Science' in the gym. It was awesome!! Thank you to all of the parents for your support and encouragement this summer and to the children for making it so memorable :) Now we are gearing up for another school year which I'm sure will be full of exciting new experiences and adventures!
