Balance Board Game Changer

During one of our school age two meetings.  It was brought to my attention that the children were interested in finding the balancing point with some spare parts from the adventure playground.  This type of play got me thinking about how we can extend their play as well as invoke different types of play indoors.  Seemingly out of nowhere an image of a board came to mind!  I spontaneously blurted out "Balance Board!" and then Mr. Bordush replied "We can do this!"    And so it begins...

Lunchable Fun!

Child: "Mrs. Carr! Mrs. Carr! Look!"

Mrs. Carr: "Oh my gosh! Wait! Don't move! I have to run and grab the camera!"

She waited very patiently (just like this) while I ran into the other room to get the camera and take this picture! Silly bean!

Inservice Day Group 2

Since there was no school on Thursday (Remembrance Day Friday) Group 2 had an action packed day.  We started it out with an activity that Mr. Bordush had previously prepared.  He had set up a wood burning station for the kids to make necklaces at.  First they started out with a small wooden cookie that they could sand the edges down on. Next they had to get help from an adult to screw a hole with the drill for the thread to go through.

After that, they were able to search through some letters to find their first initial to be burned on their wooden cookie.  Mr Bordush helped with that part.

While some children were working on their necklaces, another group was practicing their tech deck skills.  They were jumping, grinding rails, flipping about and making the craziest courses to play on.

Some girls were busy in the new doll house playing family

We even had a group MAKE their own play area with all the blocks, then comfortably settled in for a game of Trouble.

What a great in-service day it was, looking forward to many more to come.
