Fire Station & Winnipeg Harvest

Group 4 has had a great week so far! Monday we went to the Fire Station and learned about what fire fighters and paramedics do. We got to sit in the fire truck and also spray water with the hose. We learned about the equipment and saw where they dry their hoses! It was awesome!!

 Winnipeg Harvest
We went to Winnipeg Harvest and learned about how many food banks there are around Manitoba and that 47% of people that use their services are children! Today was a great opportunity to learn about community service and responsibility and contribute to our neighbourhood!
We donated 26 pounds of food and boxed 16 cases of potatoes and some onions by sorting through them and removing the rotten ones. What an amazing experience for our youngest citizens! Thanks to Tyler our very patient and informative volunteer guide!

They even have classrooms where people can learn skills...

A green house made from water bottles!

Hay bale gardens!

The fridge!

Throwing out the rotten ones...
A Love potatoe!

Group 5 Week 5 August 2-5

On Tuesday, August 2nd we went to Grant's Old Mill. The mill itself is obviously fascinating, but the surrounding park is incredible.

Unfortunately, our critter dipping got rained out on Wednesday but we had fun on the adventure playground anyhow. On Thursday we went to Oak Hammock Marsh!

Group 5 Week 4 July 25-29

In Group 5, we began our week with a comic writing day. We had fun creating small stories on comic templates and coming up with silly characters.

On Tuesday, we went to Living Prairie Museum and enjoyed finding all the amazing creatures and bugs in the natural prairie.

On Wednesday, we had a sandcastle building contest. We spent the day using our creativity to make spectacular castles and creative moats.
