Making Kielke

"The kids in Group 1 worked hard today to make their own Kielke noodles from scratch! We don't have a noodle maker at the daycare, so the children had to do all the steps by hand. These are Mennonite noodles that I (Ms. Penner) have eaten and made since I was a young child. One of the children in the group has also had these noodles before and really enjoyed being a part of the process.
Adding the ingredients.

Mixing them all together.

Waiting for 10 minutes for the dough to rest. "Ms. Penner you better not be taking a picture of me!"

Kneeding the dough.

Rolling the dough out paper thin.

Cutting the noodles by hand.

All of our hard work!

Ms. Penner
